A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, a cloud Proper pierced by a lightning flash issuing from chief and striking to dexter base Or, in chief on and over the cloud a 75 mm pack howitzer Sable. Attached below the shield tripartite Gold scroll inscribed COURAGE IN OUR RESERVE in Black letters.
Red and yellow are the colors used for Artillery. The 75 mm pack howitzer was the first artillery piece to be airborne and is therefore representative of all airborne artillery. The lightning flash is symbolic of striking power.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 14 April 1952.
